2013 Will Be A Big Year For Airdrie Food Bank

Airdrie Food Bank Executive Director, Lori Mcritchie, and Chris Mulders talk about the I Heart Airdrie T-Shirt campaign and the Food Banks plans for 2013.

2013 is going to be a big year for the Airdrie Food Bank. Plans are in the works for a new facility to be up and running within a year, with the much needed extra space to support the needs of our community.

“Not only will we have much more room for storage, we also will build a community kitchen. We will be able to teach community cooking classes and move from being just emergency support to being more proactive, to provide and build skills into our clients’ lives,” says Mcritchie.

In addition to the new facility, The Food Bank finished off 2012 and kicked off the new year as the most recent non-profit organization to benefit from the I Heart Airdrie t-shirt campaign.

“The first thing we had to do was run out and buy the shirts for all of our board members and we proudly wore them and had our picture taken,” said Mcritchie.
